TOES ESTABLISHES LEGAL FIGHTING FUND

Over the last 18 months TOES has been negotiating with the various agencies and local authorities to ensure that the community’s concerns are heard and acted upon.

The main thrust has been to ensure the Onehunga community has its foreshore restored and easy access is established to that foreshore.

Despite all our efforts the ACC officers have ignored the views of the community groups at two planning sessions and have presented to Auckland City a slightly revised version of their proposal which was rejected by the City Development Committee of Auckland City in August.

We have made it very clear to ACC “THE PROPOSAL DOES NOT MEET THE COMMUNITY’S ASPIRATIONS” and that the officers proposal is flawed.

The restoration of the foreshore was planned for in the 1970’s when the motorway was initially constructed.  We are not prepared to have the Community ignored again.

We are actively promoting the TOES proposal as prepared by NZTA (Transit).

Based upon the current situation we have little option but to proceed with the planning to fund a Judicial Review of the Onehunga/Manukau Harbour section of the SH20 project.

That is the sole reason for establishing the fighting fund.

It is important that you contribute and actively encourage others, including businesses, to contribute to our fighting fund.

With widespread financial support TOES is then in a stronger position to continue the battle to ensure that we as a community are given back tangible compensation for the damage which was caused to our community by the construction of SH20.

The TOES committee urge you to actively support this appeal.

To contribute to the Fighting Fund simply:

Print off two copies of the “Record of Donation Form” (which can be accessed via the link at the footer of this email provided you are online).

You may wish to spread your donation over a period of time. You can do this by forwarding post dated cheques with your Record of Donation Form or advising us of the payment dates (if you are depositing direct into our bank account via internet banking or automatic payment).

Option 4

If you wish to donate but do not need a Record of Donation. Simply lodge the funds direct or send your cheque and we thank you for your donation.

Notes Please ensure any direct deposit to our bank account (e.g. via internet banking) has your particulars clearly identified as we may not be able to readily identify the source of any separate deposits made.

Please do not deposit direct through a bank branch. It makes it very difficult to identify the actual depositor.
