Jim Jackson (Chairman)

Jim grew up in Seacliffe Rd overlooking Onehunga Bay and learnt to sail with the Manukau Yacht Club. He attended Onehunga High School in the 1960s and set up Jackson Electrical Industries in 1976. He has operated this company from premises in Gloucester Park Rd for 27 years. Jackson Electrical Industries is a well respected manufacturer of a wide range of power distribution equipment for the New Zealand and Australian construction industries. His company is also  involved in supplying "touch screen" technology to New Zealand's leading Superyacht builders and have built in excess of 20 mast tools for Americas Cup syndicates and Volvo Round the World Yacht Race competitors. Jackson Electrical Industries was an official team supplier to Team New Zealand for its 2007 America's Cup campaign. Jim has a long history of community involvement. He has been actively involved with the Rotary Club of Epsom since its inception 15 years ago. He and his wife Carolyne live in Epsom, have 3 adult children, and share an interest in the long term vision of both the local communities of Onehunga and Epsom they are involved in, as well as the local Tairua community where they have a holiday home. Both are committed to a future for these communities which will ensure that the natural environment and ensuing benefits which existed when they were children will not be allowed to be further eroded, but enhanced instead, for the benefit of generations to come.

Roger is married with three adult children and a couple of grandchildren. He has been a Mangere Bridge resident and local businessman since 1971 and has spent a considerable amount of time trying to better our Community. He is Auckland Airport Community Trust Chairman, Manukau All Tide Ramp Trust Chairman, executive member of The Onehunga Enhancement Society, member of the Mangere Police Advisory Group, Secretary/Treasurer of the Mangere Bridge Volunteer Community Patrol, member of the Community Liaison Group at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Chairman Mangere Bridge Residents & Ratepayers Association and been involved in other community organisations including 25 years in Rotary. He has also served as Chairman of Aotea Sea Scout Group, a Mangere Community Board member and a Manukau City Councillor.
