Online Petition to Government

This is a petition from the citizens of Auckland, calling on our Government to take firm action to ensure the residents of Onehunga are not further disadvantaged by the completion of SH20 across Onehunga Bay.

To the House of Representatives

We the undersigned are in favour of the completion of SH20 between Mangere Bridge and Queenstown Road but more importantly we also strongly support the need for the restoration of Onehunga Bay in accordance with the design known as Option 1 which was recently prepared by Transit. This design is very similar to a design drawn up in the 1970's when Stage One built.

The current Transit design referred to as Option 1 was prepared in conjunction with a westward shift of the motorway and would also allow for a future utilities corridor, including provision for an underground railway line across the Bay as part of a future Southdown/Avondale/Airport link.
